Just had large chips which were about the same portion size as medium everywhere else. Chips were oily and under cooked. The fact there wasn't a queue definitely tells you something. Goto Riverside. Much better portion size price and quality. Will not be visiting again

We were on a canal boat and moored up in the area. Looked for a place to eat and thought we’d give it a try.
Glad we did, it’s the best chips we have had for years, fish…. Not so good but the chips are worth going back for ( which we intend to do one day )

Whenever I am in March I go here for lunch or dinner. Had lunch today. Delicious, as my usual lady was flying today. I was even able to park outside. Usually too busy; I must of gotten lucky.

Bad service. Had more staff than customers but seemed more content chatting. I was 3rd in line but left after 10 mins as barely anyone had been served.
Went to another one instead as there are 4 in March

Fish and chips are best in town service due to covid lacking as should have two queues one for phone orders and one for in shop orders

Place is clean and doesn't smell of fish. Strict on customers entering. Friendly staff. Can usually get parked outside of shop.

We always have haddock which is absolutely fantastic, the size of a whale! Neither the fish or chips are at all greasy. The Staff are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Shorts Fish Restaurant.

The fish looked good with crispy batter but was dry and overcooked. Fighting through the batter to get to the dry fish wasn't fun, mushy peas were tasteless. Not inspired, won't come back
